The STACK Method wasn't built in a classroom. It was built inside real businesses, under real pressure. And it started long before I ever held a COO title.
Raised by a village.
A babysitter who had me reading before kindergarten. Teachers who handed me extra books instead of letting me idle. A community that poured in. I have never forgotten it, and it is the engine underneath everything I build.
The trip that changed everything.
My church raised the money to send me to Spain, Portugal, and Morocco for two weeks. They did not have much. They gave anyway. That trip lit a travel bug that never went out, and it planted the seed for what would become Steven's Wings.
A one-way ticket and a build.
I took a one-way ticket to England to build a company's first overseas market. The mandate was 6 new offices. I opened 8 in 6 months, built the company-wide CRM, and led 25 managers at the peak. I also learned the hardest lesson of my career.
Because I built the system, every bug, every issue, every question came to me. I was the bottleneck.
Self-respect over a paycheck.
After nine years I was disrespected and capped. I chose self-respect and walked away with nothing. I rebuilt from my parents' house with a picture of a white BMW on my office wall. Make the goal visible. Make it specific. Then work.
Inside the real estate machine.
Eight years in real estate operations: team systems, CRM buildouts, then COO across brokerage, property management, title, lending, and an investment fund. The businesses run on systems I built. And the most expensive lesson lives here: never let systems live in your head.
Steven.
My brother Steven was 15 years older than me, my second father, a Navy veteran, a nurse everyone loved. He passed from pancreatic cancer in 2017. Steven's Wings carries his name, and his test now governs every decision I make: does this create a moment with people I love, or impact for someone else?
The circle closes.
The kid whose Spanish teacher made her love the language now lives in Mexico, in a home she owns. I am not lucky. I am grateful and blessed, and the only sane response is to keep pouring into others.
